The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is an international charitable organization that first came to New York in 1880. They chose Archigrafika to design and produce the signage for their new building in Harlem. The design requirements were actually twofold; the building is divided into Manhattan Citadel corps, which houses community facilities such as the chapel and gymnasium, and EastView Residence, a set of apartments and amenities. Archigrafika developed an overall system of pictograms, room signage and wayfinding for the building, as well as separate logos and treatments for Manhattan Citadel and Eastview Residence, which were used in everything from large exterior building logos to printed applications on small signs.
